New Karunai Illam is a non-profit organization committed to the welfare and development of children, women, and marginalized communities. Based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, our trust works with compassion and dedication to address the root causes of poverty, neglect, and inequality.
We believe that education, health, and empowerment are the foundations of a dignified life. Through our programs, we support children in need, empower women, care for the elderly, and uplift rural communities.

We create awareness among downtrodden children about their rights and the importance of education. Many of the children we support come from highly vulnerable backgrounds, including child labour, rag picking, abandonment, or situations of abuse. Our child protection efforts focus on rescue, rehabilitation, education awareness, and reintegration into safe, supportive environments.

Education is the foundation of a better future. We provide non-formal education and help children integrate into regular schools through community-based tuition centres, life skills education, summer camps for children in slum areas, and educational sponsorships for deserving students, enabling them to stay in school and grow with confidence.

New Karunai Illam promotes health and wellbeing across all project areas by raising awareness on health and hygiene, providing primary healthcare services, organizing medical and health camps, delivering adolescent education, and offering medical referrals and continued support for children and families.

We empower women through education, awareness, and skill development programs that focus on social and legal protection, household and financial management, and gender equality. We also encourage the formation of self-help groups and youth women’s groups, helping women become financially independent and active contributors to their communities.
